NGA Summer Scholarship Entry

I was asked by one of my teachers at my school if I wanted to have a go at entering the competition (I guess you would call it that??) for the National Gallery of Australia's Summer Art Scholarship.
I had to create a piece of artwork as a response to a piece by Mike Parr, and send it in along with a carefully thought out page of writing to accompany it.
After staying up until 3am and crazily painting something without really caring.. I posted it away to the gallery thinking I had absolutely NO chance.
Anyways, November rolls around and I get the phone call saying I got in! AHHHH lol I still can't believe it :l I was one of 2 Canberra people that had been chosen. Only 2 people from each state were picked!

I have to say that I think it was the most fantastic thing I have EVER done so far, and I met some amazing people during the week I want to go back!

Now onto the painting. !

Because I did this quite a while ago now, I didn't keep the reference photos. I picked some stocks -well i'm hoping they were stocks... please dont kill me!, off here and I guess I must have deleted them after I was done... !!!!!! i'm extreeeemely sorry to the owners of the photos I used as a reference, I would credit you but simply can't !

If its your eye that I have used in this piece pleeease let me know and I'll be sure to credit all that I can.

I'm definitely going to update the artwork soonish and fix bits and pieces because it looks just so rushed :l so ignore the bad bits pllllzzzz?
